While not the cream of the 1950's sci-fi movies, the films in this series
are definitely not the dregs either. Made on shoestring budgets, they are
excellent examples of what lured audiences into theatres half a century
ago--with promises of futuristic thrills and excitement! More often than
not, they delivered on those promises! And still do.

INVADERS FROM MARS (NR/1953/78 min.)
A little boy witnesses a flying saucer land in a sandy field behind his
home. But no one will believe his story as, one by one, his parents and
prominent townspeople are placed under the control of sinister forces from Mars. Atomic Age paranoia is effectively addressed--through the youngster's eyes--with surreal imagery created by Oscar winning set designer and director William Cameron Menzies. Stars include Helena Carter, Arthur Franz and Jimmy Hunt.

I MARRIED A MONSTER FROM OUTER SPACE (NR/1958/77 min.)
A distraught wife is alarmed by changes in her new husband--who's been
acting strangely since their wedding night. And for good reason: he--and
most of the other men in the community--have been taken over by grotesque aliens who hope, by procreating with human women, to revive their dying race. Creepy moments abound in this chiller starring Tom Tryon and Gloria Talbot.
