EXHIBITION ON SCREEN SERIES: THE ARTIST’S GARDEN – AMERICAN IMPRESSIONISM
( 2017 )
In 1886, French art dealer Paul Durand-Ruel brought a selection of his huge stock of impressionist paintings to New York, changing the course of art here forever. As America steamed into the Industrial Age, urban reformers fought to create public parks and gardens: patches of beauty amid smokestacks and ash heaps. These gardens provided unlimited inspiration for artists and a never-ending oasis for the growing middle class. The pioneering American Impressionists crafted a sumptuous visual language that told the story of an era. Travelling to studios, gardens and iconic locations throughout the United States, UK and France, this film is a feast for the eyes.

Red River is the best cinematic experience that my wife and I have ever had – viewing angle, sound, seating, snacks, staff, web site are top shelf, and the movie selections themselves are talked about for days.
My favorite place to see a movie. I always know that whenever I drop in to Red River Theatres, I’ll have a great cinematic experience.
