(Not Rated 2015 57 min.)

In April 2013, a 57-year-old calculus lecturer at the University of New Hampshire submitted a paper to the Annals of Mathematics. Within weeks word spread: Yitang "Tom" Zhang, a little-known teacher, with no permanent job, working in complete isolation, had made a important breakthrough toward solving the Twin Prime Conjecture (a complicated theory). But you won't need a math degree to enjoy this inspiring account of a humble man's rise from obscurity to instant celebrity.

An informative discussion with David Brooks and Edward Hinson will follow the film.

Ticket Prices

All tickets are $12 and $10 for Members/Students.

Additional Info

The film will be shown once in our Stonyfield Culture Cinema, followed by a Science Cafe conversation with David Brooks, sci/tech reporter and writer of the Granite Geek column at the Concord Monitor with Edward Hinson, associate professor of mathematics at UNH and former department chair, who worked with Yitang Zhang.

Film made possible by the University of New Hampshire Department of Mathematics & Statistics.
