Where myth meets mystery: the tragic tale of star-crossed lovers Orpheus and Eurydice is retold on (and below) the kind streets of Concord, NH in Granite Orpheus. Most of Granite Orpheus was filmed in downtown Concord during Market Days 2015, but the project disintegrated while attempting to schedule one final, essential scene. That scene was finally shot at Red River Theatres last June, ten years after initial filming.
There will be a post-film discussion with the filmmakers and members of the cast.
This screening is free and open to the public. Seating is first come, first served.

When a young woman is killed by a shark while skinny-dipping near the New England tourist town of Amity Island, police chief Martin Brody (Roy Scheider) wants to close the beaches, but mayor Larry Vaughn (Murray Hamilton) overrules him, fearing that the loss of tourist revenue will cripple the town. Ichthyologist Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) and grizzled ship captain Quint (Robert Shaw) offer to help Brody capture the killer beast, and the trio engage in an epic battle of man vs. nature.
