Assistive Listening Headphones
Comfortable wireless headphones are available to enhance your moviegoing experience. These devices are available in our two larger auditoriums—the Lincoln Financial Cinema and the Stonyfield Culture Cinema—which use DCP projection technology.
The headphones offer two listening modes:
Enhanced Audio: Amplifies the film’s dialogue and soundtrack. The volume can be adjusted independently in each ear for a comfortable, personalized listening level.
Audio Description: When available, provides spoken narration describing important visual elements of the film, including actions, settings and character expressions. Guests may lower the volume in one ear to hear the film’s soundtrack in the auditorium while listening to the audio description through the other.
Please ask a staff member if you would like to use assistive listening headphones or need help adjusting them.
Hearing Loop System
All three Red River cinemas are equipped with hearing loop systems. A hearing loop sends a film’s audio directly to compatible hearing aids and cochlear implants, reducing background noise and improving sound clarity.
To use the system, your hearing device must have an activated telecoil, also called a
T-coil. Select the T-coil setting on your device once you are seated in the cinema. If you are unsure whether your hearing aid or cochlear implant has this feature, your audiologist or hearing-device provider can assist you.
